A progressive detox program can create a chance for a new start in life — and the foundation for a successful recovery. SoCal Sunrise Recovery Center’s Mission Viejo detox program utilizes the latest evidence-based resources to make the detoxification process as comfortable, safe, and effective as possible. We offer medication-assisted detox to help relieve the symptoms of withdrawal, optimizing our client’s chances of success. With a staff of experts to provide encouragement and motivation, our clients benefit from the best in detox treatment. Once the mood-altering chemicals have been cleared from our clients’ systems, we help them transition to the next phase of their recovery.
Breaking the cycle of addiction requires permanent abstinence from drugs and alcohol, which is a difficult process, both physically and emotionally. For this reason, it should be supervised by medical professionals. Our client’s emotions are intensified during this process due to the difficulty of coping with the physical effects noted above. They are forced to endure both physical and emotional stress without the crutch of drugs or alcohol—this can feel very overwhelming. Our staff is there to comfort and guide you or your loved one each step of the way.
Long-term programs can better address underlying issues. Drug and alcohol addiction can often be a traumatic experience.
This emotional, spiritual, and physical scarring can’t be entirely healed in short-term programs. However, they do help start the recovery process. Long-term recovery is the goal, and more extended programs thoroughly guide patients to their self-directed and drug-free lifestyles.
Inpatient programs might be mistaken for “Sober Living” houses. The two recovery options have the same goal in mind, but their approach to addiction recovery is different. Sober Living homes are drug- and alcohol-free living environments usually designed around 12-step support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Tenants here might be in part of an outpatient program but aren’t given the mindful therapy inpatient rehabs offer.
Drug abuse and alcohol abuse can lead to a serious health condition known as substance use disorders. Characterization of people with substance use disorders include:
It doesn’t take long to develop addiction disease, which is why it’s crucial to confront substance abuse early on. What starts as a curiosity or an occasional weekend activity can quickly become an addiction. Playful social situations may make substance abuse seem harmful, but beware.
Recreational use and even calculated prescription use lead to a heightened tolerance to a given drug. An elevated tolerance means a person will need to do more for each usage to feel high. As this happens, physical dependency also builds, leaving users feeling abnormal when sober. A vicious cycle then starts, and it can be challenging to break.
Addiction, at this point, starts to cause withdrawal symptoms. Symptoms of withdrawal are different for each type of drug addiction, but all can be potentially life-threatening. These symptoms will be very noticeable whether it’s you or a loved one.
Unfortunately, drug abusers may be in denial of their problematic use before they start to notice severe withdrawals. At that point, it had already become a severe problem. Fear of not having enough drugs or alcohol to avoid withdrawals turns into a complete lifestyle takeover.
Addiction treatment facilities like our Mission Viejo inpatient rehab focus on a holistic approach. Good inpatient rehabs look at psychological, physical, and emotional health to balance instabilities caused by drug addiction. Patients are provided around-the-clock attention to help initially detox from drugs and then move on to the rehab and recovery phase.
Most inpatient treatment centers offer one-on-one therapy, medication-assisted treatment, and support groups. Many benefits come with this:
With these benefits comes a better chance at long term sobriety and addiction recovery. When it comes to addiction treatment no substitute for a professional.
Those suffering from addiction should get medical advice from a doctor and discuss the different types of treatment. You can also get information from SoCal Sunrise to see if inpatient rehab at Mission Viejo is right for you.

It can be difficult to differentiate when a heavy drinker crosses and becomes an alcoholic. To clarify this issue, the medical community created the term Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) with a specific set of criteria to establish if a person qualifies for this diagnosis. AUD is considered a brain disease like any other mental health disorder. People who have Alcohol Use Disorder have three common traits. They are compelled to drink. They cannot control the amount that they drink. They will also experience adverse physical and emotional effects when they don’t drink.
Alcohol Use Disorder is the most common Substance Use Disorder in the United States. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reports that about 16 million people in the United States suffer from AUD. People with Alcohol Use Disorder typically begin to suffer from the consequences of their drinking but continue to drink alcohol to excess regularly. They may have run-ins with the police, get a DUI, or repeatedly miss work or social events. People with AUD will also feel the physical effects of not drinking. They may have shaky hands, trouble sleeping, sweating, nausea, irritability, anxiety, and depression.
Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome (AWS) can be dangerous and even deadly. A detox from alcohol should always be overseen by a medical professional. The more severe symptoms of Alcohol withdrawal require medication management during a medical detox. Some of these symptoms are dehydration, fever, irregular heart rate, hallucinations, extreme agitation, and seizures. A medical detox center can monitor a patients vital signs and use medications to ensure that these harsher symptoms are avoided.
A progressive detox program can be the foundation for a successful recovery from alcoholism. Southern California Sunrise Recovery Center’s Mission Viejo alcohol detox program utilizes the latest in evidence-based resources to make the detoxification process as comfortable, safe, and effective as possible.
The timeline for an alcohol detox typically lasts between five and seven days. This process can sometimes take longer if there are medical complications or if other substances are being abused along with alcohol.
The first phase of the withdrawal process can begin as soon as eight hours after the person’s last drink. During this stage, symptoms are typically mild and include anxiety, insomnia, and nausea. The next phase of withdrawals usually occurs between one and three days after the last drink and includes elevated heart rate, high blood pressure, confusion, and agitation. The third phase of the withdrawal process is the most dangerous. Some of its symptoms are fever, hallucinations, and seizures. These symptoms usually occur two to four days after the last drink.
We offer medication-assisted detox to help relieve the physical symptoms of withdrawal. This level of care optimizes our client’s chances of successful recovery. Our team of addiction treatment experts provides encouragement and motivation for our clients. Once our clients’ bodies and minds are free from the toxins created by alcohol abuse, we help them transition to the next phase of their recovery.
Xanax is the more common and the brand name for the drug alprazolam. It is a medication that is typically prescribed to treat different levels of anxiety and panic disorders. Xanax has grown to be very popular and remains to be one of the most commonly prescribed medications amongst the United States population.
Xanax is a sedative-type of medication meant to slow down different thinking capabilities and can also affect a number of other brain processes. When this drug is prescribed and taken correctly in small doses, the effect is proven to be very useful when managing various disorders, such as anxiety. Individuals who suffer from a form of anxiety often possess unusually high levels of stress and worry compared to their peers.
Despite the many different ways this drug has proven to be extremely helpful to so many people who suffer from these related disorders, Xanax is also a very addictive substance that can cause dangerous complications to an individual’s health. Developing an addiction to this drug can begin even if the individual uses the drug correctly and as prescribed by their doctor. Although a Xanax addiction can be produced this way, it is infrequent.
The prescribing doctors will always take heed to any warning signs that will become visible before a full-blown addiction is developed. The dangerous habits are seen much more often to occur when an individual does not follow the medical professional’s instructions, and the drug is abused.
Upon entering a certified drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility such as SoCal Sunrise in Mission Viejo to treat a present Xanax addiction, the individual will then enter the critical initial phase of medical detox. During the medical detox phase of the rehab program, the primary goal of our addiction specialists is to be available to monitor the process as the patient’s body metabolizes and removes the Xanax from their system.
Having the various methods of this program, followed closely by qualified health professionals, is essential because, in most cases, this involves uncomfortable and oftentimes dangerous situations for the patient. Because of the full range of medical complications that may occur because of all of a sudden quitting heavy drug use, it is vital to obtain this form of treatment under the close supervision of credentialed medical experts.
A medically-supervised or medically-assisted detox program significantly lowers the risk of relapse because the individual in treatment does not even have the option of drinking or using their drug of choice again. Trying to endure a drug detox at home can be dangerous, frightening, and is strongly discouraged by all medical industry professionals. The awful withdrawal symptoms that are associated with the detox process do not just affect a person’s body, but can also cause damage to their brain as well.
If left to their own devices, a person does not even have to be experiencing the more severe symptoms to become incredibly anxious or suffer from delusions that can make them a threat to themselves or others. Our certified addiction treatment facility in Mission Viejo favors the combination of medical and psychiatric procedures to help each of our patients gain a sober body and healthy mind.
The experience of Xanax detoxification programs and the accompanying withdrawal symptoms can often be torturing, but unfortunately is a necessary step along the pathway to a healthy long-term recovery. These symptoms are typically seen to happen in a progression. Beginning with withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, tremors, and muscle spasms, and leading to intense cravings and mood swings.
The severity of the withdrawal symptoms varies greatly depending on how much of the drug and for how long the drug had been abused.
The half-life of Xanax is about 11 hours, meaning that it can take up to 50 hours for the body to r eliminate the drug from the body altogether. Although this may seem like a long time, it is interesting to learn that Xanax has one of the shortest half-lives when compared to the many other drugs that are classified as benzodiazepines. Therefore, withdrawal symptoms can start to be visible and felt more quickly compared to other similar drugs.
This information considered, it is important to understand when an individual decides to stop taking the drug, potent substances such as Xanax should be tapered for safety. Quitting “cold-turkey” can lead to severe health complications and side-effects. Some of the more commonly seen physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms seen during Xanax detox programs include:
Xanax withdrawals can last anywhere from weeks to months. Some individuals have even experienced different withdrawal symptoms for years after the last time the drug was taken. Xanax, along with other benzodiazepines, are unique based on how long it’s symptoms can last.
Heroin is an illegal, opioid drug. It is also classified as an opiate because it is derived from the opium poppy plant. Other common opiates are morphine and codeine. The term opioid is used to refer to both these natural drugs as well as their synthetic relatives. There are many synthetic opioids, but the most common forms are hydrocodone, oxycodone, and methadone. All of these drugs have a similar effect on a person’s brain. And they cause the same, general, effects in varying degrees and duration.
These drugs are highly effective in treating pain. But they were never intended to be taken habitually or in large doses. When a person abuses an opioid that can easily become physical dependence on the drug. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) reports that 30% of the people who are prescribed opioids abuse them. They also state that 10% of people who are prescribed opioids develop opioid use disorder, which means that they meet the medical requirement for opioid addiction. NIDA reports that approximately 80% of people who are addicted to heroin, began their addiction by misusing prescription opioids.
Habitual use of opioids, and especially heroin, changes the way an addict’s brain works. The nerve receptors in their brain will become dependent on the influx of opioids to function properly. When a user becomes dependent on opioids, they will be unable to stop taking them or decrease their dosage without experiencing the symptoms of withdrawal.
The withdrawal symptoms of heroin and other powerful opioids are intensely unpleasant. The initial stages of heroin withdrawal begin only a few hours after the user takes their last dosage. These symptoms will include intense cravings, body aches and flu-like symptoms. Most heroin and opioid addicts are familiar with the early stages of withdrawal, as they will often experience them when they run out of drugs. But these symptoms don’t progress to their peak until 3 to 5 days after the last use. The feelings of withdrawal can cause an addict to get incredibly anxious, depressed, and unstable. A person who is dependent on an opioid should always under a professional medical detox and never. They should never attempt to undergo the full spectrum of withdrawals on their own.
A progressive detox program is a foundation for a successful recovery. SoCal Sunrise Recovery Center’s Mission Viejo heroin detox program utilizes the latest in evidence-based resources to make the detoxification process as comfortable, safe, and effective as possible.
The timeline for an opioid detox typically lasts about a week. This process can sometimes take longer if there are medical complications or if other substances are being abused along with heroin.
The first phase of the withdrawal process can begin as soon as six hours after a person’s last used an opioid. During this stage, symptoms are typically mild. They include muscle aches, limb pain, insomnia, runny nose, and sweating. The next phase of withdrawals usually occurs between one and three days after the last dosage and includes anxiety, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, elevated heart rate, and high blood pressure.
We offer medication-assisted detox to help relieve the physical symptoms of withdrawal. This level of care optimizes our client’s chances of successful recovery. There are a number of different medications that are used to relieve the symptoms of opioid withdrawal and reduce cravings. The most common types of these drugs are Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, and Methadone. These medications are administered by a physician. Our team of addiction treatment experts also provides encouragement and motivation to our clients. Once a recovering addict’s mind and body are free from the toxins created by opioid abuse, we help them transition to the next phase of their recovery.
While all inpatient treatment programs are based around the idea of steady on-site care, different types of treatment may be offered.
Inpatient rehab in Mission Viejo at Southern California Sunrise Recovery Center offers a mix of traditional scientifically proven addiction treatment and evidence-based holistic methods:
We develop personalized plans around these methods to bring peace and comfort into our patients’ lives — through detox, rehab, and into the world.
We know it’s possible to guide you or your loved one through their struggles with substance abuse. We’ve supported people from various backgrounds and drug addictions. In our experience, we’ve become diversified and well-versed in treating addicts with different requirements:
Alcohol Addiction has been diagnosed in over 7 % of American adults. Alcoholism is characterized by drinking too much, drinking too often, and drinking in a way that has negative consequences for a person’s personal life, professional life, and overall health. Once a person realizes that they have a problem and decides to seek help, there are evidence-based treatment methods available that have helped a lot of people to get well.
Alcohol Treatment Facilities like our Mission Viejo Rehab Center can provide the needed care to detox and recovery successfully.
The first part of recovery is getting alcohol out of the patient’s system. Alcohol addicts can experience dangerous withdrawal symptoms. A medically supervised alcohol detox is vital to prevent potentially fatal complications. Common Alcohol withdrawal symptoms are shaking hands, profuse sweating, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, seizures, and hallucinations.
Because of alcohol’s prevalence in American culture, recovering alcoholics are constantly confronted with triggers (situations where they are compelled to drink). Effective alcohol addiction treatment encourages alcoholics to examine these triggers and teaches them to deal with these situations in a healthy way. By learning non-addictive coping mechanisms, Alcoholics can learn to live a life free from the bondage of addiction.
Group counseling, individual counseling, sobriety support groups (like Alcoholics Anonymous and SMART Recovery) and relapse prevention education have all been proven to help an alcoholic recover. Relapse rates fall by around 50% when these treatments are utilized.
Many people see such huge benefits that they choose to continue using these support systems even after they have achieved longterm sobriety.
Inpatient rehabilitation is regarded as the most effective way to recover from any addiction, and alcohol is no exception. Through inpatient care, patients are removed from society’s stress and temptations.
Inpatient programs are designed so that the patients’ entire day is built around recovery and healing the person as a whole. A patient in inpatient care also has access to 24-hour assistance.
Inpatient programs like ours include behavioral therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These therapies encourage patients to change the way they react to stressful environments by changing the way they relate to the world.
Group and individual counseling, along with experiential therapies also impart lasting lessons to patients that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. By learning firsthand how to manage their emotions and deal with other people in a sober, healthy way, patients are given the tools necessary to prosper outside of the residential setting.

Cocaine is a central nervous system stimulant that triggers the release of high levels of dopamine. Dopamine is a brain chemical that creates the sensation of pleasure and is used as a reward system in the body. Cocaine abuse has the potential to cause severe, long-term effects on a person’s health. When Cocaine is chronically introduced into a person’s system, It can cause the brain to rewire itself to adapt to these massive dumps of dopamine. After prolonged usage, a person’s brain cells will become altered, nerve cells and proteins will develop new pathways, and other lasting effects will change the way the addict’s brain functions.
All of these factors make it very difficult for people to recover from Cocaine addiction. Professional Cocaine addiction treatment can help a person to deal with these issues through a series of proven, evidence-based techniques.
A Medication-Assisted Detox will help the Cocaine user get over the harsh withdrawal symptoms of Cocaine addiction. Holistic mind and body treatments will help a person repair the damage that Cocaine has caused by the abuse. Group Counseling sessions will teach the addicted individual that they are not alone in the process that they are going through. They will learn that other people have been down this same road and bounced back to become even stronger from the experience. And Individual therapy sessions will help the addict get to the heart of their addiction issues. They will explore what lead them to use drugs and what feelings or shortcomings they were attempting to medicate through drug use.
A person’s physical addiction to Cocaine is relatively easy to overcome compared to the psychological dependence that can linger in a person’s mind for years to come. A person addicted to Cocaine may center their entire life around drug and alcohol use. It may be a key component of their personality and may have dictated the choices that they have made for decades.
Our Inpatient Cocaine treatment program is a great option for anyone who wants a chance to step away from the stresses of work, school, or toxic relationships that have kept them in the cycle of addiction. Opiate is a broad term that describes the natural and synthetic drugs derived from the sap of the opium poppy. Opiates vary greatly in form and strength but they all share the same common characteristics. Opiates are all incredibly addictive. When a person takes an opiate, it causes a flood of endorphins and dopamine to rush into their brain. These chemicals occur naturally and are closely tied to feelings of pleasure and satisfaction. However, the amount of endorphins and dopamine released by an opiate is so powerful that it eclipses any organic feeling of euphoria.
Many people are introduced to opiates through a legitimate doctor’s prescription. Opiates are often given to people who are recovering from surgery or major illness in order to manage pain. The unfortunate path from prescription pain medication to heroin is unfortunately well worn with 80% of heroin users reporting that they began their addiction with legal drugs. Often, people addicted to prescription pain killers will resort to buying heroin off the street because prescription pills are more expensive and harder to get.
Long-term opioid use can change the way an opiate addict’s brain functions. Over time, the brain will cease producing dopamine and endorphins on its own because it has become accustomed to the artificial influx of these chemicals. When opioids use stops, the addict’s body will recoil, resulting in a variety of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.
When a person who abuses opiates is confronted with these withdrawal symptoms they are compelled to continue using even when they don’t want to. Even though they have experienced major repercussions from their addiction, these people will be drawn back into taking opiates even though it will cost them their job, their family or their lives.
Our inpatient opiate addiction treatment program is an ideal decision for anyone who wants to escape the stress of work, school, or toxic relationships. Our services help you through the opiate detox stage and throughout recovery. The immersive nature of inpatient rehab allows our patients to focus completely on their recovery.
Our inpatient program provides behavioral therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These therapies encourage patients to question the way they react to stressful environments and encourages them to change the way they relate to the world.
Individual and group counseling sessions will teach our patients life skills that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. By learning how to regulate their emotions and deal with other people in a reflexive, healthy way, patients are able to prosper outside of the residential setting.
Southern California Sunrise Recovery Center also provides Holistic therapies like Yoga, Reiki, and Meditation. A strong body and a peaceful mind will allow individuals in recovery to deal with stress in a calm manner and not be ruled by their emotions. Xanax belongs to a class of prescription sedatives called benzodiazepines (often called benzos). These drugs can be useful for their calming effects, but they are also highly addictive. In addition to Xanax, other common forms of benzodiazepines are Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, and Tranxene. These prescription tranquilizers, or sedatives, are prescribed for a host of conditions, like anxiety disorder or panic disorder. In some cases, they can also be used to treat Insomnia, Seizures and Alcohol Abuse Disorder.
Many people have a legitimate medical need for Xanax, but because of its addictive quality, even people who take benzos as prescribed by a doctor can develop a sedative use disorder and become mentally and physically dependent on the drug. By building up a tolerance to the drug, users will need more and more of it to get the high that they are used to. When a person does not get an adequate dose, because they can’t get enough of the drug or are trying to cut down, they will experience withdrawal. Withdrawal from benzodiazepines is considered to be particularly dangerous, it can cause seizures and can be fatal.
A Medication-Assisted Detox will help the Xanax user get over the harsh withdrawal symptoms of Benzodiazepine addiction. Holistic mind and body treatments will help a person repair the damage that Xanax has caused by the abuse. In Group Counseling sessions patients learn from the experiences of other people in recovery and learn skills to deal with the issues that they may encounter. Individual therapy sessions will help the addict get to the root of their addiction. They will explore what feelings or shortcomings they were attempting to medicate through drug use.
Addictions creep up on a person gradually. They influence an addicts behavior on a subconscious level. Once an addiction has taken hold, the desire to seek out and consume increasingly high quantities of benzodiazepines comes from a place deep in an addict’s brain where survival instincts are stored. For many Xanax addicts the attempt to get sober from these drugs causes them existential panic. Their brains know that withdrawal will cause them extreme pain. But even in this state an addict can be reached.
Our medically assisted Xanax detox program can help a person safely recover from the withdrawal symptoms of a Xanax addiction. And our inpatient Xanax addiction treatment program allows addicts to step away from the stresses of work, school, or toxic relationships. The immersive nature of inpatient rehab allows our patients to reexamine their choices outside the context of their daily routine.
Our inpatient program offers behavioral therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These therapies encourage patients to change the way that they react to environmental stressors, thereby changing the way that they relate to the world.

Meth is a highly addictive stimulant that causes a rush of Dopamine to flood into the user’s brain. Dopamine is a neural chemical associated with feelings of euphoria. The brain usually dispenses Dopamine as a reward to encourage memory retention, motivation, and learning. The amount of Dopamine produced by methamphetamine use is much higher than the natural amount of Dopamine that is typically produced by the brain. The resulting chemical imbalance feeds a person’s addiction to meth by making them crave higher dosages of the drug to maintain the same pleasurable feelings.
The quick progression of tolerance to meth along with its cheap price increase the likelihood of a person becoming rapidly addicted to the drug. When a person stops using meth, they will not be satisfied by the relatively low amount of Dopamine they receive naturally. This can lead to extended periods of “Anhedonia” or an inability to feel pleasure. Other common withdrawal symptoms of meth are anxiety, depression, fatigue and, insomnia. When faced with these withdrawal symptoms, a meth user will often begin using the drug again to regain a feeling of normalcy. This cycle makes meth addiction difficult to beat without professional help.
Once a person who is addicted to methamphetamines decides to quit, it is critical that they undergo a medically supervised detox. The effects of meth on the heart and central nervous system can lead to seizures, heart attacks, and strokes. In order to safely avoid any severe complications, a person should be under the care of trained professionals while recovering from meth addiction.

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email michael@socalsunrise.com
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both for Windows and for MAC users.
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to michael@socalsunrise.com
